Why I wrote the book now
I recently published the book "To the Girl who was sexually Abused". I am not trying to get rich or get famous on a testimony that really belongs to God. To be honest writing the book drained me, and I had so many reservations to publish.
In my studies I stumbled across the scripture found in Ezekial 33:7-9 “So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 8 If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.
The Warning
This scripture shook me. So many people are coming to church accepting Christ and think that is all there is to do. But real acceptance and a real relationship with Christ will bring forth real change, real repentance, real obedience. Yet people are harboring unforgiveness in their souls. The word of God is clear,
"For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."- Matthew 6:14-15
I have been sharing my testimony for years in small groups privately. This isn't a story that victims want to hear. But when you forgive, God comes into your heart. This is where real freedom is unlocked. Only God can do that. In this hypersexualized culture the sense of urgency to speak the truth and tell everyone because I want everyone to know God, experience his love, forgiveness and make it. There is alot more to the story, too much for this one blog post. But pray about it and download the book to study with me. I pray that God opens your eyes to see what God wants you to see in.
Details of the book
God has brought me back full circle which is why the cover has a gold circle. He brought me back to the beginning, where it all started. Although that seems painful and trust me it was, He also redeemed everything. The house I ran away from is today now a house of prayer, well baked by the Holy Spirit.
You will notice my headshot is a child photo of myself. This was important to me as I long to pick her up and say sorry for beating her up so many years. I held her responsible for things that she did not have any understanding of. Using that picture helped heal that part of me, putting that little girl back in her rightful place of value.
