One of the miracles that God provided in the book of Exodus was daily manna. The Israelites were starving in the desert, so much so that they wanted to go back to Egypt and be slaves because at least there they had a daily meal. The desert provided nothing for them to eat, so they grumbled and complained. God heard their cry and decided to provide manna in the morning and meat at night. That morning they woke up to manna, and the instructions were to take what they needed for the day and not to keep any of it. Eat your daily manna, store nothing for the next day. That's a tough task for someone traumatized by the pain of hunger. But that was the rule God gave. Some of them did not listen, and in the morning, the manna was covered with maggots and began to smell.
What keeps you from trusting God in the present is your attachment to the past
It is natural for our minds to doubt and fear the unknown, but remember that true strength lies in trusting God. Our minds are 'triggered' to lean on our own understanding, not fully trusting God. We are more moved by the fear of the unknown, the fear of losing control of the situation, and often find our heads filled with "stinking thinking." You have to let go of yesterday to embrace what God has for you today.
Let go of yesterday's pain.
Let go of yesterday's problems.
Let go of yesterday's blessings.
Let go of yesterday's promises.
Embrace each new day as a gift filled with blessings, promises, and opportunities to overcome challenges. Seize the present moment and make the most of today!
